Connect with Your Spirit to Manifest Miracles

You know how beneficial it is to connect with your spirit through meditation and prayer, but still, it feels like you’d rather clean out your basement, or do your taxes than sit in silence. Your mind tells you that you’re too busy, you don’t know how, or maybe you can start once your business is up and running, the kids are out of the house, or you aren’t so swamped with dishes, laundry, and errands.

If this sums you up, then understand that you are underestimating the power of meditation and prayer to radically change your life for the better.

Connecting with your spirit first thing in the morning will transform who you are at your very core. When you commit to sitting and opening up to guidance from Spirit through meditation and prayer, you begin to feel, think, and behave differently. The universe will begin to shape you, making you softer and more malleable. You’ll no longer hold onto resistant thoughts, negativity, and fears, because you’re no longer rigid.

I think I’ll apologize to that person, you’ll think. Maybe I will take that workshop, or work with that coach, even though I’m nervous. Maybe my job isn’t has bad as my mind keeps telling me.

The very act of sitting with Spirit every day will soften you, and it’s your softness, your openness and receptivity, that will manifest a miraculous life.

Here’s the key: You must foster an intimate relationship with Spirit. Open up to receiving messages from your soul. Taking time to connect with Spirit through prayer and meditation will allow you to trust the beneficence of the Universe. Instead of merely thinking of the divine, you will begin to feel the divine.

What does it feel like to be connected to Spirit?


It feels like magic. It feels like you’re in the flow with all of Life. It feels like you’re supported. It feels like you’re never alone. It feels like you’re deeply cared for, like there’s an invisible maternal energy that only wants the best for you. It feels like a great exhale, like you’re putting down the story of who you think you are, who you need to be, and all of the ways you’re not living up to those expectations. It feels like you’re putting down the weight of life.

When you’re connected, you respond to negative people with ease and grace. You come up with great ideas. You say yes before your mind can tell you all the reasons why it won’t work. You release the need to control. You don’t wish people were different. You decide to love them for who they are, even if they don’t love you. You feel deeply compassionate. Your heart opens, and you find that you can cry from an overwhelming feeling of gratitude.

It’s not that your life circumstances have changed (though, eventually, they will), it’s that you’ve returned to your Spirit. When you take time every morning to open up to Spirit, with just a few words, or five minutes of quiet time, you align yourself with miracles. You shift from fear to love.

Instead of focusing on the two areas of your life that aren’t working out, suddenly, you remember how loving your friends are. You remember how your sweet uncle invited you to dinner last week, but you were too grumpy to go. You recognize that there are so many people who love you, but maybe you’re not seeing it all the time. You remember that you have food, clean water, and most of your “problems” were invented by your mind.

You start to to shift the focus from yourself, and you begin to ask yourself, How may I serve? Because of this, you actually begin to enjoy life. You take the pressure off yourself. You open up to others. You lighten up. You start to enjoy life.

So, what can you do to connect with Spirit?

#1 Meditation

The idea of meditation has become overly complicated. It’s easy to feel like you’re doing it wrong, or even more common, like nothing is actually happening. One of the best ways to begin a meditation practice is to start small (aim for sitting every day for 3-5 minutes) and keep it simple. One of my favorite meditations is from the book The Way of Mastery. It goes like this.

Close your eyes. Relax your body. Inhale and say in your mind: I accept—

Exhale and say in your mind: the love of God.

Inhale and say in your mind: I accept—

Exhale and say in your mind: the love of God.

If you’re not comfortable with the word God, you can say Source, the Divine, or any word that feels light to you. If you can do this for even 3 minutes every morning, you will begin to expand your level of consciousness, and your life will shift.

If you don’t like to sit in silence, try playing reiki music in the background. It’s healing and will set the mood.

#2 Prayer


When you pray, you open up to hearing from Spirit. With just a few words, you can begin to cultivate a relationship with the divine part of your being. My favorite prayer is from A Course in Miracles. Whenever I find my mind replaying situations from the day prior, judging others, or coming up with fearful thoughts, I repeat in my mind: I’m willing to see things differently.

It’s not complicated. Let’s say you’re in the shower, and your mind starts to tell you that your friend shouldn’t have said that comment at dinner last night, or your date should’ve responded to your text sooner, simply say the following prayer in your mind: I’m willing to see things differently.

You might repeat it for the rest of your shower, and you might not even feel like anything has changed, but if you get in the habit of saying this whenever you catch yourself thinking thoughts that are not in alignment with your Spirit, eventually, you will find yourself thinking new thoughts - thoughts that are more loving, both towards yourself, as well as others.

#3 Journal


You can sit with Spirit, talk to Spirit, and you can also write to Spirit. Journaling is a great way to cultivate a relationship with God. Again, keep it simple, and don’t make it complicated. Keep a journal and pen handy, and complete the following prompts every day:

Dear Spirit,

I deeply and truly appreciate…

I’m excited for…

I am…

Be mindful to keep it positive. You don’t want to write, I am overweight and unemployed. Express appreciation for what you have and all of the things you love about yourself. I continually reaffirm my divine nature by writing things like, I am infinite awareness. I am the love of God. I am loved, loving, and lovable. I am expansive and creative.

When you are willing to prioritize connecting to Spirit, even just for a couple of minutes every morning, and you are consistent, you will notice that not only are you changing, but so is your life. It’s like going to the gym: You can’t go once or twice and expect to fit into a size zero bikini, but if you make a commitment, one day, you will wake up, and your body is different. You will become aware of all of the love and ease in your life. You will feel the love of Spirit, and it will fill you up.
